Overview
A bucket elevator raises bulk material vertically using buckets fixed to a chain or belt. It is used where material has to gain height in a short horizontal distance — feeding a silo, a screen or a press hopper in a plant where an inclined conveyor would not fit.
Bucket size, spacing and travel speed are selected according to the density and flow characteristics of the material being handled.
